Such an amazing, beautiful, fun young lady! We had so much fun doing this session with her. With only getting 2 hours of sleep & being sick, it was nice that she made the session so easy! She is a natural & the day with her was an adventure that I would repeat over & over again!

'Learn to love every part of yourself, because there is no one like you and there never will be.'

I love these girls so much (my nieces). They were certainly a challenge! I couldn't get them both to look at me in one single picture, but I made it work & they were dolls! They are fraternal twin sisters, so cute & have completely differen't personalities, but that's what makes them so unique & special! Sometimes, when photographing toddlers, you just have to give them what they want & just go with it! Who am I to argue with the birthday girls?!

""Having a sister is like having a best friend that you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll be there by your side."

Jahnessa-  Such a sweet, beautiful girl! We had lots of conversations during our time together. She had a lot to say for a two year old, and I loved every minute of it!  She was a star in front of the camera.  The little things that a child finds fascinating are truly beautiful. As adults we lose sight of the beauty in the little things. Children have this wonderful appreciation for every single thing they see.

Elijah-  I can't even begin to tell you how much baby Elijah melts me! He is such a little cutie & has the most heart melting smile! I just love his face & had a blast with him!

It was such a joy photographing these two. I love kids. They are just so much fun and put a huge smile on my face (which makes me pretty entertaining for the people watching me edit!)

"Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children." -Walter Elias Disney

This beautiful session is my tribute to the day that millions of people celebrate love. There is so much love in this little family. I could see it through his eyes as he looked at her, I could see it through her smile as he gently kissed her cheek, I could see it through their hearts as they held the growing baby boy in this beautiful momma's belly. I am honored that they asked me to do their maternity pictures. It was a joy to capture these special moments.

"No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you're the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside" -Mommies everywhere.

"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years." -Audrey Hepburn

I took some time off to deal with moving & some other personal issues, but I am feeling well again & am picking up where I left off. Which is with this lovely lady! She was an amazing model! So much fun to work with and was more than willing to do some pretty risky stuff! Like climbing out onto a small space so we could get the beauty of the river in some of the pictures with her.  Jackie did not cease to me amaze me during our shoot for one moment. Not only is she absolutely stunning, she has one of the biggest hearts as well.

This photoshoot was such a blast! I have known Dawna since my freshman year of highschool. She was one of my best friends and is such an incredible musician. She even wrote a song for me, during a really difficult period in my life. It is called "That Girl" (If you're ever curious, look it up on YouTube! ) She is a beautiful woman inside and out! I just love how these pictures all tie together, like lyrics in a song.

“Babies are soft. Anyone looking at them can see the tender, fragile skin and know it for the rose-leaf softness that invites a finger's touch. But when you live with them and love them, you feel the softness going inward, the round-cheeked flesh wobbly as custard, the boneless splay of the tiny hands. Their joints are melted rubber, and even when you kiss them hard, in the passion of loving their existence, your lips sink down and seem never to find bone. Holding them against you, they melt and mold, as though they might at any moment flow back into your body.
But from the very start, there is that small streak of steel within each child. That thing that says "I am," and forms the core of personality." -Diana Gabaldon

This family was amazing & such a joy to work with. Talen, the oldest brother was so incredibly sweet to his baby brother, Ezikiah. He loved his little brother so much that he almost refused to do the "Brother 4 sale" picture. He was fighting it, until we offered him some cookies, he was more than willing after that ;) Such a fun shoot!

"Look at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars... and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence of it all is joyful. Everything is simply happy. Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have a bank balance. Look at the flowers - for no reason. It is simply unbelieveable how happy the flowers are. If you look long enough, you'll realize they make you happy, too." ~Osho

There's something about being with one of your closest friends in the middle of no where, looking for beautiful places to shoot. We sure did find a winner. Granted it was raining, freezing & we were in an area that was labeled "dangerous" it was quite beautiful & more than worth it. We were able to use a couple of sentimental items that were her fathers, such as the mirror & the Polaroid camera, that made perfect props on this gloomy, yet beautiful day. Just because it rains, doesn't mean everything else doesn't shine with beauty.

    The Author

I have been an aspiring photographer since 2009. Its pretty extraordinary the way that photography makes me feel. When I am upset, stressed, depressed, confused, in a funk… It always lifts my spirits up. It fills my heart & completely takes my breath away. It changes my perspective on life & brings things to my attention that I never would’ve seen if not through camera lens eyes.. Its almost magical. As if God has touched me with such a beautiful gift, that I get to see things so differently now. Everything I see, everything I absorb, leads me to a place where everything is perfect, in front of the lens of a camera. So many people click their camera & call themselves a photographer as if it’s a fashion statement, I push that button and come alive. It’s so much more than just a ‘click’ to me. Its completes me.
